About This Program
A healthcare chaplain provides pastoral care and services in hospitals, nursing homes, hospice, or for the homebound sick. They work with patients and loved ones, and may offer ministry to staff members when requested.
The Master of Arts in Healthcare Chaplaincy acquaints the student with a broad perspective of Healthcare Chaplaincy. The program consists of ten courses equivalent to fifty hours of study.
5 Healthcare Chaplaincy Verbatim Reports (1–2 pages each) are required — dialogues with hospital, nursing home, hospice, or homebound individuals.
Seven of the ten required courses must be core courses. Elective courses/textbooks and alternate courses may not be utilized.
